sonotforyou1 Posted 12.10.09 | My father was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease at 50 years old. He served in Vietnam and was exposed to Agent Orange Chemicals. I am 31 and my youngest sister is 22 and we are both experiancing the same symptoms. My middle sister is 26 and symptom free. It is becoming frustrating, because when either of us go to the doctor we are not taken seriously, because of our age and there is no solid proof of the relation. Any help appreciated. |
jenpin Posted 01.18.10 | My newphew was diagnosed with Crohn's when he was 18 years old, he has had to go through several surgeries. His mother, my sister was diagnosed with Crohn's about 10 years after her son was. My other nephew and her other son was diagnosed with IBS. I believe that it is a disease that most likely is hereditary.
I would search out better doctors, especially if your having sypmtoms. It might be worth going to a specialist. |
Jordanna Posted 03.12.10 | Genetic and non-genetic factors are thought to contribute to crohn's disease. We currently believe that there a number of genes that cause susceptibility to crohn's disease as well as influence the severity and progression of disease. Families in which there are multiple affected family members typically have a higher recurrence risk for crohn's disease than the general population. |
