My mother was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease six years ago. She went relatively symptom-free for the first four years. However, the last two years have become increasingly worse in terms of inflammation. Some days she can hardly eat. She is on medication which helps her very much. However, I was wondering if anyone knew of any at-home remedies that may help her on the particularly hard days when flare-ups occur?

My son has been suffereing from Crohn's Disease since elementary school, he is now 28 yrs old. And the only thing that seemed to give him some relief from the pain flare-ups and diarhea is cooked rice. And the things that seem to cause the worst flare-ups are beans, (pinto, navy, lima etc) popcorn and at the suggestion from his doctor,he now also avoids watermelon.
