My fiance and I have recently found out that more than 12 close relatives in our combined relatives, plus ourselves, suffer from bipolar disorder. Now we're left wondering...what kind of suffering are we going to pass down to our children?

I'm fearing the exact same thing recently. My dad seemed to have it, and now I seem to have it, it's manifested in just the past couple of years. It ruined his life and now I'm going to have to suffer it. And even if I fight through it and am successful and blessed and have children of my own, they might have to suffer it as well. It's horrible and I'm distressed.
