jolaniyi Posted 12.09.09 | My colleague's husband was just diagnosed to be 47 XXY. I just want to know if he can father a child |
Jordanna Posted 12.15.09 | In males with a 47, XXY chromosome constitution, abnormal development of the testicles can result in low or absent sperm production and possibly low testosterone leading to infertility or reduced fertility. Newer reproductive technologies, such as intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), have helped men with Klinefelter syndrome have biological children. |
Qwenya Posted 02.02.10 | I am also aware of men with mosaicism fathering children naturally. In mosaicism, some of the cells are 46,XY and some are 47,XXY.
Most men find out they are XXY during testing to determine causes of infertility. |
