Two new genes, ANTXR2 and IL1R2, have been identified in the creation of the debilitating condition known as Ankylosing Spondylitis. The study performed by the researchers at the University of Texas Health Science Center also confirmed reported associations of the genes ERAP1 and IL23R. The findings help to give a better understanding to the condition, and will hopefully provide a direction for better treatment options and diagnostic tests.
