Pathway Genomics specializes in whole genome scanning for SNPs that have been proposed to influence susceptibility to certain common diseases and non-medical traits, targeted mutations known to cause specific genetic conditions, drug response testing, and ancestry testing. Ancestry testing is also available separately.

Does the provider clearly display their privacy policy, which includes information about safeguarding the information they collect from you as well as any results of testing?
Lab Accreditation  
Has the provider received accreditation from either CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) or AABB (formerly known as the American Association of Blood Banks), depending on what type(s) of testing they perform? These two accreditation programs establish, ensure and promote the highest standards of testing quality.
Physician Authorization  
Does the provider involve a physician in the process of ordering and interpreting genetic testing? Some providers have a physician(s) on staff who facilitates testing, while others direct you to obtain authorization for the testing yourself. Physician Authorization is generally not required for Ancestry Testing or most types of Biological Relationship/Kinship Testing.
Counseling Services  
Does the provider offer genetic counseling to help you fully understand the benefits, limitations and consequences of genetic testing? Genetic Counseling is generally not required for Ancestry Testing or most types of DNA-based Identity Testing.
Security And Encryption  
Does the provider use industry standard practices to protect your information and activity while using their services? This may include the use of Secure Socket Layers (SSL) and integration of ISO 27002 standards.
